Application
Once you are able to recognize the note names, and can correctly count rhythms, the next step is to be able to reproduce the sounds that those notes represent.
In order to do that, you need an instrument. Fortunately, you come with a musical instrument pre-installed: your voice! Or you may want to take these techniques and apply them to the piano, guitar, or some other string or wind instrument.
The next couple pages will briefly touch on some of the issues that are involved in actually making music once you know how to read it.
