Fugue in C for 3 Voices

I was pleased with how the recorder ensemble version of the waltz turned out. It was easy to do. So I decided to write a 3-part fugue voiced for soprano, alto, and tenor recorder. Here is the result, though I rendered it instead as a double-reed ensemble.
If a person is considered dead when their heart stops beating, why are they not considered alive when their heart starts beating?
