Prayer for Salvation (Intercession)

Monday, August 2, 2021

If you are praying this with a group, allow each person in turn to read one paragraph, and where indicated, let each person name those for whom they wish to intercede. If praying alone, feel free to substitute "I" for "we".

The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)

“As surely as I live,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but would rather that they turn from their ways and live.” (Ezekiel 33:11)

Therefore, we take up the weapons of our warfare, which are not of this world, but are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and taking captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost. (Luke 19:10) We lift up before the Throne of Grace those who do not know the Lord, or are not walking with Him. (Call them out by name.)

We declare that God’s arm is not too short to save. (Isaiah 59:1) Salvation belongs to the Lord (Psalm 3:8), and He shall have mercy on whomever He pleases. (Romans 9:15)

The earth is the Lord’s, and all who dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1)  We declare that these lost ones belong to the Lord God who created them, and that Satan has no right nor power to hold them captive.

The Lord Jesus has declared, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18)

By the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, we bind the strong one and plunder his goods! (Matthew 12:29)

In the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, we tear down every stronghold of pride, rebellion, idolatry and unbelief.

We demolish every stronghold of fear, and every barrier to faith.

We break every addiction, and every power of Satan that holds people captive.

In the Name of the Lord, we destroy the stronghold of lies and deception, and of the fear of man.

In the Name of the Lord, we tear down the stronghold of the love of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. (1 John 2: 15-16)

(If there are any other known strongholds in the lives of those for whom you are interceding, call them out now and break them down in the Name of the Lord.)

We tear down every argument, bias, philosophy, belief system, paradigm and worldview that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and opposes the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, we cast down atheism, evolution, secular humanism, intellectualism, and transhumanism.

In the Name of the Lord, we tear down spiritual evolution, universalism, new age spirituality, reincarnation, Eastern mysticism, every occult belief and practice, and every false religion.

We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may impart to these dear ones the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and grant that the eyes of their heart may be enlightened to know the hope to which they have been called and the riches of his glorious inheritance. (Ephesians 1:17-18)

Holy Spirit, You who bring forth existence from nothingness, we humbly ask You to hover over each of these whom we have named, to give birth to new spiritual life within them, and to stir up within their heart a desire to know God, to draw near to Him, and to have a loving relationship with Him.

Heavenly Father, we ask You to touch the hearts of these individuals, to draw them to Jesus and enable them to come to Him. (John 6:65) May you draw them and lead them to the foot of the Cross.

Almighty God, we pray that you would give to these dear ones a new heart and put a new spirit within them; that you would remove from them their heart of stone, and give to them a heart of flesh that is responsive to your Word and your Spirit, that they may walk in obedience. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

We pray, Lord, that You will put Your law in their minds, and write it on their hearts. (Jeremiah 31:33)

Heavenly Father, we pray that You would pour out upon them, and upon all the earth, the spirit of truth, the spirit of the knowledge of God, and of the fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:2,9)

Lord our God, we ask that in and through Christ You would remove the veil of spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 3:14-15), and release over them a spirit of revelation, that they may know the truth.

Father God, we pray that you would bring them revelation through the testimony of others, through the spoken and written word, though dreams, visions, and every other means possible.

We bind the spirit of lies and confusion, and release over them a spirit of wisdom and understanding.

Lord, we pray that you would give them eyes to see the truth, a mind to understand the truth, and a heart to receive the truth.

We bind the spirit of denial, and release over them a spirit of conviction, that the truth may deeply penetrate both mind and heart.

We pray that they would know and be convicted of the truth of who God is, of His existence, His nature, and His character. We pray that they would come to know and understand the truth of God’s holiness, His justice, His love and His mercy.

We pray that they would be convicted of the truth of who Jesus is, of His Divine nature, His birth, life, death, resurrection, and imminent return.

Holy Spirit, we pray that You would bring upon each of these whom we have named a conviction of the truth of who they are, created by God and for God, precious in His sight.

Lord, we pray that you would grant them understanding of the truth of what sin is, and that you would bring upon them conviction of their sins and of their need for a savior.

The Lord crowns the humble with salvation! (Psalm 149:4) Therefore, we bind all pride and release over them a spirit of humility, that they may respond to these convictions by confessing their sins before the Lord.

We bind all rebellion, and release over them a spirit of repentance, that they may turn from their sins, and turn toward God.

Holy Spirit, may You regenerate their spiritual being, and bring them to a genuine repentance of the heart, of the mind, and of the will. Of the heart, in contrition for their sins; of the mind, in acknowledging and confessing their guilt; and of the will, in renouncing their sin and yielding themselves entirely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

We bind all unbelief, and release over them faith unto salvation, that they may receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Lord God, we pray that in your abundant mercy, you would allow each of these dear ones to experience your presence personally in a very real and powerful way. We pray that you would grant them a deep and overwhelming experience of your love, so much so that they would willingly and gladly surrender all their heart and life to you.

We pray that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit, with newness of life, and the joy of the Lord.

We call upon the angels of God to surround them and protect them from every attack of the enemy.

Almighty and gracious God, we humbly pray that by your great mercy and compassion you will deliver each of these whom we have named from the power of darkness and convey them into the kingdom of the Son whom you love. (Colossians 1:13)

We declare that our God is mighty to save! (Isaiah 63:1) Blessed be the Name of the Lord, the God of our salvation! (Psalm 68:19-20)

Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God. (Revelation 19:1) Let His Name be praised forever and ever!

Amen.

Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.
